I like to think I know quite a bit about politics and political parties both at home and abroad ( I currently live in the UK) but I know nothing about the political parties and structures in New Zealand. Can anyone give me a simple discription about politics in New Zealand. When I was in Wellington in November there was a protest happening on the streets but I have no idea why.

Politics is the process by which groups of people make decisions. It is the authoritative allocation of values. Although the term is generally applied to behavior within governments, politics is observed in all human group interactions, including corporate, academic, and religious institutions.

So, how do we take “dirty” away from a word that is so important to the continuation of our democratic way of life?
Maybe more people should read “Politics for Dummies.” If everyone had a better understanding of the intricacies, maybe people would be less negative and actually participate in the process. What do you think?

Although a Politics related course sounds good to do, is it no more useful for good job prospects as say, a Sociology degree, as it may seem pretty general..?

So my teachers and parents (and my common sense) are telling me to do Biology at A-Level, cos its a “hard subject” cos I’m good at it, I’m predicted A* in it (and every other subject, making choices difficult)

But I don’t really enjoy biology as much as politics, and wanted to know if, assuming i got all A’s, would politics let me down as an a level in oxbridge entry or any other top uni.

There seems to be a pretty significant clash between ideology and reality here. Which is perhaps more telling of Socialist-Communist politics, in general.
